In Memory of Anna Chan Chennault

March 30, 2019 is the first anniversary of the death of our old friend and famous social activist, Ms. Anna Chan Chennault. To commemorate her, the Overseas Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Committee of the Shanghai CPPCC and the Jing'an CPPCC jointly organized a memorial event.

　　
At the same time, GOLDIAN Group has built "Xiangmei Library" and "Claire Lee and Anna Chan Chennault Exhibition Hall" in "Shanghai Jianping Xiangmei Middle School" and "Anna Chan Chennault Peace Royal Garden". Lots of valuable pictures, handwritings, letters and articles were exhibited there, showing the legendary life of Ms. Anna Chan Chennault and the great contributions of General Chennault. Proudly and fortunately, the "Three Treasures of Humanities and Art", the Haimalong and the Haimafeng and Peace Irene of GOLDIAN Group are also on show along with these exhibits, so that they will not feel lonely.

On hearing the news of Ms. Anna Chan Chennault's death in 2018, the founder of Anna Chan Chennault Education Foundation, Mr. Kou was heartbroken, and immediately went to the United States to attend the funeral. The Anna Chan Chennault Education Foundation and Shanghai Jianping Xiangmei High School jointly held “Memorial Service for Ms. Anna Chan Chennault” at “Shanghai Xiangmei Library”.

Highly competent and respectable, Ms. Anna Chan Chennault became a consultant of several US presidents, as well as a remarkable representative of Chinese involved in US politics. When she won the honor and status in the United States, she did not forget that she was the daughter of China. She made outstanding contributions to improving Sino-US relations and promoting cross-strait exchanges. During the business investment investigation activities in Taiwan, Ms. Anna Chan Chennault broke down with tears when she was warmly welcomed by the fellows who had fought against aggression together with General Claire Lee Chennault. Mr. Deng Xiaoping once said: “There are 100 senators in the United States, but only one Ms. Anna Chan Chennault.” In 2015, on the 70th Anniversary of the Victory of the War of Resistance Against Japan, Ms. Anna Chan Chennault received the “Commemorative Medal of the Victory of Resistance War” from President Xi Jinping as the highest recognition to the woman with legend.

Over the years, Ms. Anna Chan Chennault has traveled all over the country to make suggestions for reform and opening up, especially in the fields of education, charity and folk contacts. In 2012, she deserves to be elected the first outstanding representative of "Light of China". The recommendation reads as follows: Her legendary life, her outstanding achievements have long been well-known... She is the messenger of peace to communicate with the world, and also the glorious business card of Chinese culture. We often see that on some important occasions in the United States, as long as Ms. Anna Chan Chennault arrives, she will attract people's attention like a magnet. Her charm and grace is amazing.
