Fragrant souls yearn for old friends, plum shadows seek to reminisce. Six years ago today, our old friend, renowned social activist, world leader of overseas Chinese, and Ms. Anna Chen Chennault, wife of General Chennault of the American Flying Tigers, left us.

Deng Xiaoping once said, "There are 100 senators in the United States, but only one is Anna Chen Chennault." Ms. Anna Chen Chennault's talent and character are valued by many US presidents, becoming an outstanding representative of Chinese American politics in the United States. When she received honors and status in the United States, she never forgot that she was a Chinese child. She made outstanding contributions to improving Sino US relations and promoting cross-strait exchanges. On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the victory of the War of Resistance against Japan in 2015, President Xi Jinping personally presented Ms. Anna Chen Chennault with the medal of honor for the victory of the War of Resistance against Japan, which is the highest honor for a glamorous legendary woman.

2025 marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of Ms. Anna Chen Chennault. In May last year, Zheng Gangmiao, Deputy Secretary and Deputy Director of the Party Group of the Standing Committee of the Shanghai Municipal People's Congress, and Chairman of the Shanghai Federation of Trade Unions, as well as Sha Hailin, former member of the Standing Committee of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee and Minister of the United Front Work Department and now President of the Shanghai Public Relations Association, accompanied by Kou Menyuan, Chairman of the Goldian Group, visited the Xiangmei Academy located in Jianping Middle School in Shanghai.
